In the production of such an insulator, use is made of a number of prefabricated plastic shielding elements (2), which are formed at their upper side with a sleeve (2b) and are each provided with a concentric bore (2c) which, on the underside of the shielding element, goes over into a funnel-shaped flaring (2d). These shielding elements are pushed by their bores onto a core (1), designed as a plastic rod, and connected to one another by the sleeves of the shielding elements respectively engaging in the flarings of adjacent shielding elements. In order in this case to provide a jointless and seamless outer sheathing of the insulator with little expenditure in terms of production technology, the plastic shielding elements are only partly hardened after their shaping, so that they remain dimensionally stable and in this state can be pushed onto the core, after which they are simultaneously fastened on the core with the aid of a suitable binder in such a way that the desired homogeneous connection between the plastic shielding elements and the plastic core is produced, and consequently so too is a completely homogeneous outer jacket of the insulator. <IMAGE> |
