摘要 <p>The component consists of at least two metals, where the particles of one metal (I) are coated with another metal (II), and the coated particles and then mixed with uncoated particles of metal (I). Metal (I) is pref. W; and metal (II) is pref. in the Pt gp., and is esp. Ir. The sintered material pref. contains 5-50%, (25%) coated particles (I,II) and 50-95% (75%) uncoated particles (I). Particles (I,II) are pref. made by dipping particles (I) in a soln. contg. metal (II), followed by drying and heating, then mixing the particles with uncoated metal (I), pressing and sintering. The prod. is used esp. as a dispenser cathode in election tubes. The electronic work function is reduced in comparison to conventional materials, so the cathode current is increased at a given temp. Lower cathode temps. can be used to increase cathode life; or higher currents can be obtd. at the conventional operating temp.</p>
