<p>Automatic control device for flat bed knitting machines has a single programme card (70) provided with start and end marks at the beginning and end of the card which further carries code marks relating to instructions and information. Card is indexed by drum (42) of a reader (40) provided with device (47, 48) for scanning the start and end marks, with a device for reversing the rotation of the drum (42) when the end mark has been sensed and with a device which causes the drum to rotate in its forward direction when a start mark has been sensed. Card is reciprocated for checking between positions associated with the start and stop marks. Used for actuating machine elements in accordance with code marks sensed. Device is compact, simplified as regards mfr. of programme card with their marks and gives reliable service over prolonged periods.</p> |
