The activation of cholesterol esterase in ion-containing solution is effected by addition of a polyethoxy ether or ester and/or of a bile acid compound and/or salts of fatty acids with 6 to 10 carbon atoms in combination with a synergistic alcohol which is selected from the straight-chain, branched or cyclic aliphatic alcohols with 5 to 12 carbon atoms, where appropriate halogen-substituted, aromatic alcohols and the aliphatic alcohols which are substituted with several halogen atoms and have 1 to 3 carbon atoms. |
