A transporter for prefabricated concrete garages has a lifting frame secured to the floor of the garage and gripped by a lifting hoist on the rear of the transporter. An extending hydraulic arm (22) grips the far end of the frame and is linked to a vertical frame (17) near the open door of the garage, with a support roller (9) at the bottom end of the vertical frame. A second ram (24) adjusts the inclination of the vertical frame and the garage. The whole assembly is dropped over the rear of the transporter and is guided into position in an inclined setting. The design enables the garage to be dropped accurately into place without running over soft ground. The lifting frame is secured by captive fittings removed without damaging the structure.
