Hollow synthetic polymer filament with membrane layer

In parent patent hollow synthetic polymer filaments have 10-90 Vols. % of inter-communication pores, and a surface of open pores, where the fraction of orifices on the surface is 10-90%. In this addn. the filaments carry a layer which acts as a membrane, opt. impermeable to fluids. - The filaments are used partic. in heat-transfer devices and heat pumps. They are also used in micro-filtration, for sepn. of bacteria, for filtering or oxygenating blood, as supports for membranes, or as adsorbents. They may be impregnated, e.g. with antistatics. The new fibres have better heat conductivity and better heat transfer properties.
