PURPOSE:To control a resolution and density by a method wherein one picture element on a recording paper is formed with a plurality of ink droplets projected out of a nozzle for an ink jet head and a number of the ink droplets is selected so as to match a quality of the recording paper. CONSTITUTION:Charging and noncharging of a number of particles 12b, 12b' counted by an unit of group is effected in a collected condition and one picture element on a recording paper is formed with a group of ink droplets while the number of the ink droplets in one group is varied by changing a pulse width of a charging pulse produced out of a charging control circuit 4 with a manual dial 13 or the like. According to this method, an amount of the ink per one picture element on the recording paper 6 may be adjusted and the amount of the ink matching a quality of the recording paper may be selected, therefore, a beautiful printed image without striking of the ink through the paper or floods of the ink may be obtained. |
