PURPOSE:To obtain a lithographic printing original plate requiring no dampening water and having superior wear resistance, adherence to a support and printing properties by a single coating by coating the substrate with a silicone rubber solution or dispersion containing a photosensitive component and settling the component. CONSTITUTION:Flexible substrate 1 such as Al plate attachable to a printing machine is coated with a solution or dispersion containing a photosetting silicone rubber component, a photosensitive monomer or oligomer such as glycidyl methacrylate which has a small affinity for the rubber component and settles to be separated from the rubber layer or to form a region having a density gradient, a photosensitizer and a photopolymerization catalyst, and the coated layer is solidified by drying to form photosensitive layer 2 and silicone rubber layer 3 on substrate 1. By exposing the resulting photosensitive plate through original 4 the exposed portions of layers 3, 2 are photoset. The unexposed portion of layer 3 is then removed by development to form ink receptive image portion A, and ink repellent non-image portion B is left. |
