Working U ore deposits, esp. veins with different U3O8 contents, covered with trash, involves drilling at various predetermined sites, removing different amts. of ore, according to the concn. of the ore concerned, and combining to a mixt. with a constant U3O8 content, pref. of 3.2%. A constant predetermined U3O8 concn. can be obtd. with few boreholes in a very small mixing plant and large open waste heaps are avoided. Specifically, it is also possible to keep the content of impurities, esp. Ni, constant. Fully automatic and even remote controlled operation is possible avoiding radiation hazards to the workers. |
