PURPOSE:To provide favorable heat transfer from the wall of a pipe to a liquid by a method wherein a woven fabric which burns out upon a heat treatment is placed on the surface of a slurry before the slurry sets, and baking is conducted after the slurry is dried. CONSTITUTION:A woven fibric of milled cotton which burns out upon a heat treatment is placed on the surface of a slurry containing a ceramic powder before the slurry sets, and the fabric is impregnated with the slurry. After drying the slurry, a frame plate 3 is placed on top of this assembly with the fabric surface 2 up, and another assembly with a fabric surface 2 down is placed on top of the plate 3, and the three members are adhered together. Then, baking is conducted in air at a temperature of 1500 deg.C for a duration of 90min, for example, to burn out the fabrics. By this treatment, the pattern of the fabric is formed on the ceramic surface, and liquid passage grooves are almost direct and become extremely small capillaries. Thus, heat pipe wick is obtained which allows favorable heat transfer from the wall of a pipe to a liquid. |
