PURPOSE:To impress a sufficiently large magnetic field even when a small magnetic field modulating coil is used by laminating and forming a transparent soft magnetic film and a vertical magnetizing film on a substrate in an above- mentioned order. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic head 5 and an optical head are placed on facing positions while sandwiching a recording medium in magnetic field modulating type magneto-optical recording. In such a case, when a transparent soft magnetic film 2 is provided between a substrate 1 and a vertical magnetizing film 3, since a magnetic flux is made to reflow through the film 2, the magnetic field is efficiently impressed to the vertical magnetizing 3. Thus, even when a current supplied to a coil of a magnetic head 5 is the same, the magnetic field to be impressed to the vertical magnetizing film 3 can be made larger in the case of a structure with the addition of the soft magnetic membrane 2. |
