<p>PURPOSE:To prepare the title compound useful as a raw material of a catalyst for hydroformylation reaction, in a short reaction time, in high yield, by reacting 9-phosphabicyclononane with a specific amount of 1-eicosene. CONSTITUTION:9-Eicosyl-9-phosphabicyclononane is prepared by reacting 1 mole of 9-phosphabicyclononane with 2-4 moles of 1-eicosene in the absence of O2 and in the presence of a radical-generating catalyst (e.g. azonitrile, dialkyl peroxide, etc.), at 80-140 deg.C. The process is economical since the amount of 1-eicosene can be reduced compared with conventional methods, and the reaction time is short.</p> |
