PURPOSE:To perform multipurpose discharge washing operation through a single DC circuit breaker which is originally used for discharge washing operation at long time intervals, by using the commutating capacitor and thyristors of the DC circuit breaker to perform discharge washing operation at short time intervals. CONSTITUTION:A DC circuit breaker 19 of the discharge washing operation circuit for nuclear fusion equipment is made of thyristors. As for discharge washing operation at long time intervals, a switch 16 is kept closed. Aftera current transformer coil 9 is energized, an auxiliary thyristor 18 is ignited to discharge a previously charged commutating capacitor 6 to turn off a main thyristor 17. A high voltage is thus generated across the current transformer coil 9. As for discharge washing operation at short time intervals, a switch 15 is kept closed and discharge is caused by using the commutating capacitor. Since the interval of the discharge washing operation can be varied, economic multipurpose operation is enabled. |
