PURPOSE:To obtain a device with uniform deflection sensitivity characteristics by making the speed of electron beams and the phase speed of electromagnetic waves in the higher frequency than the upper limit frequency of the frequency band to be used. CONSTITUTION:Electromagnetic waves propagate along the central conductor 1 by applying input signals among the opposed electrode 2, shielded plate 3, and the central conductor 1, and deflect the electronic beams 4 which pass through the intermediate section of this central conductor 1 and the opposed electrode 2. Suppose that the dimensions of each section for the central conductor 1 and the gap between the respective electrodes, for example, L=3.8, l=1.0, p=18.5, a=1.9, d1=1.5, d2=0.2, d3=0.6(mm) the frequency band used is 3.7-4.2GHz, and that the acceleration voltage is 10<4>V, uniform deflection sensitivity is obtained by making both the phase speed and the electron beam speed coincide with 4.7GHz. |
