<p>The device is for controlling the operating line of an electrical appliance, such as a television set, with the facility for indefinitely suspending the time control, comprises a variable resistor (10) connected in series in one supply line to the appliance and a low voltage ( ) timer motor (8) connected across the resistor (10) such that when the appliance is switched on the motor is energised by the voltage drop across the resistor (10). The motor controls a switch (9) in the line, opening the switch (9) after a set period and thus controls the overall ON time of the appliance. The resistor (10) and switch (9) are short circuitable by a key-operated switch which, when closed, thus suspends operation of the timer motor (8). All of the components are housed in a locked box (16) and an indicator lamp (12) may be connected in parallel with the motor together with a voltage stabiliser circuit (11).</p> |
