<p>Ready-to-wear skirts and trousers for ladies, made in materil with grooves running one way, such as ribbed velvet, are formed with a curved belt, so that the ribs run the same way, on the belt as on the remainder of the garment, when viewed from the front. The garment pattern for the belt is in the form of a circle arc which is constant for any size, and four cut pieces are made when the pattern is brought to the fabric, so that the straight line subtended by the arc of the pattern is at right angles to the ribs of the fabric. The belt is sewn to the trousers or skirt in a single operation.</p> |
