摘要 |
PURPOSE:To provide the titled material of excellent quality with a high reaction efficiency by a method wherein glass forming material is thermally hydrolyzed in high temperature steam to form glass particles, and glass particle stacked body is grown in the axial direction of the starting member. CONSTITUTION:Raw material gas which is reacted to form oxide glass particles and high temperature steam from its generator 32 are guided to a torch 31 and each gas is jetted from separate mouth so that both gas is mixed in space to form glass particles. Glass particles are blown onto the end of starting member 37 which is rotatingly pulled upward, so that glass particles gradually form glass particle stacked body 34. To provide a stable reaction condition, reaction tube 39 is heated by heater 38 to a specified temperature. When the stacked body 34 has reached the heater 35 zone, it is heated by heater 35 and forms transparent glass mother material 36. |
