Solar radiation absorber for house roofs - has curved absorber plate to make maximum use of incident radiation at all times

The absorber has a base consisting of a sheet metal enclosure with a foam insulation infill. The upper side of the enclosure is dished to form trapezoidal recesses with flat bases. A curved sheet of copper is placed in each of the recesses. It is supported on neoprene gaskets which insulate it from the base. It has longitudinal semicircular recesses into which copper pipes are held by copper clips. The liq. to be heated flows through these. The absorber is completed by a glass cover which is sealed to the base by neoprene gaskets at the tops of the trapezoidal recesses.
