<p>A press comprising a frame a press base, a movable press table, a number of working cylinder assemblies, arranged symmetrically to the longitudinal centre line of the press and a number of auxiliary cylinders, has press platens along the long edges of which spacer rails are provided, for the mfr. of mats of compressed material in the prodn. of chip and fibre boards. Control equipment is also fitted so that the working cylinders and the auxiliary cylinders can be regulated to ensure parallel compression of the mats. The auxiliary cylinders act as outriggers on the spacer rails as they apply the tables and the platens to the mat. Control equipment includes a deflection measuring device which measures the deflection of the press tables. According to the degree of deflection in the press tables held by the outrigger cylinders, the load on the working cylinders is regulated by the control equipment so as to give parallel compression. Used to develop a chipboard press so that the press table and its platen take up a definite static position, and in which the motion of the table can be oriented in such a way that the parallel compression of the mat can be regulated easily by simple technical means.</p> |
