The steplessly-adjustable power-dividing hydrostatic-mechanical transmission unit has a three-shaft adjustable hydrostatic portion and a three-shaft epicyclic gear train. The input shaft is coupled to the sun wheel of the latter and to a first rotor of a first hydrostatic pump. The output shaft is driven by a second part of the gear train. The first reaction member of a second hydrostatic pump cannot rotate, and second rotors of the pumps are coupled to parts of the gear train. The second rotor of the first pump is coupled to the gear train annulus, which drives the output shaft, while that of the second pump is coupled to the planet carrier. The reaction member is adjustable to give stepless variation of the pump output.
