发明名称 CONCENTRATION CELL APPLYING GRAPHITE FIBER LAYER INTERMEDIATE COMPOUND
摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a concentration cell capable of generating an electromotive force even for a low temperature difference, by providing a graphite fiber layer intermediate compound, between a graphite fiber and halogen element or intermediate halogenide, produced by the method of vapor phase growth, in the anode unit at a low temperature side. CONSTITUTION:A mixture gas of benzene and hydrogen is inducted into a reaction tube in the electric furnace and precipitated a carbon fiber on a graphite substrate heated at about 1100 deg.C. Said carbon fiber is applied a heat treatment in an argon atmosphere at a temperature of 2,800 deg.C to obtain a graphite fiber. Said fiber is exposed in the vapor of halogen element or intermediate halogenide like Br2 or immersed in the liquid to obtain a graphite fiber layer intermediate compound. The graphite fiber layer intermediate compound 5 obtained by such a method as in the above is filled in at a low temperature side of a U-tube 1 in which top portions are linked by a tube 2 and low and high temperature sides are separated by a heat shielding plate 7. Into said U-tube 1, for instance, a water solution of KBr saturated by Br2 is poured to such an extent that a bottom portion of the layer intermediate compound 5 is immersed, thus to construct a concentration cell operated by a temperature difference.
