<p>Candle with a movable wick has the latter fixed by a clamp sleeve to a wick holder in a recess at the bottom of the candle. A spring urge the wick holder upwards. To extinguish the candle, a ring around the candle base is depressed; three arms pass through recesses in the wax to a ring above the wick holder and pull it down together with the wick. On release, the spring returns the wick to its proper position. Simple and robust device is for odourless snuffing out of such a candle. It automatically returns the wick to a position where it can be re-lit, and eliminates the hazards of manual operation.</p> |
