The screw cap and crown cork opener is particularly for domestic use. It comprises a U-shaped piece, whose arms are of angle section and joined by a flat section. Clear of the join, the arms together form a circular recess with teeth in it, and their ends are formed into hollow cubes, with sides parallel and at right angles to the centre line. Part-circular recesses are formed in the side surfaces parallel and at right angles to the side faces of the arms.
