Rain water downpipe dirt trap cage - has sections built into pipe and into outflow gutter flap

A side opening is closed by a swivelling gutter-shaped flap, serving as a trap and outflow channel for rainwater. It is fitted on a downpipe which contains a full-width dirt-trapping sieve facing the opening. The sieve is in two sections (5, 6) one built into the drainpipe (2) and the other into the flap (3), both ending in the area of the flap swivel axis (4). A closing knob may be fitted on the pipe, above the opening. This permits easy removal dirt or leaves from the sieve, and closure is reliable and easily effected.
