The tool contains two mould halves and is mounted in a press with a horizontal axis so the halves can be opened and closed. The rim of the mould cavity is formed by a circular row of ring segments located on one mould half and radially adjustable via slides fitted with springs. When the mold is opened for removal of the moulding, the ring segments move radially outwards to facilitate extn. of the moulding. The mould pref. consists of a concave and a convex half, the segments being located on the convex half. The object is to prevent damage to the moulding (e.g. a soup plate) during its removal from the mould.
