<p>Part of the side walling (1), or bottom (5) is in the form of a slab (8) which is movable tranversely, in the system for generating waves in a swimming-pool. The slab is connected to a drive unit (14) for its alternating transverse movement, pref. a hydraulic cylinder. The slab may be in the pool bottom, near a short sidewall; or it can be a flap turning on one side on a mounting; or a rocker turning along a centre line on a mounting. There is no need for walling slits, holes or gratings, and no excessive local speeds or suction effects are experienced.</p> |
