The invention relates to the neutralisation of a lignocellulose-containing alkaline product which has been treated with an alkali, in particular of those products which have been treated by alkaline hydrolysis and which are used as animal feeds, such as straw after hydrolysis. The neutralisation is carried out using fatty acids which contain, for example, 12-28, advantageously 16-18, carbon atoms. The fatty acids are added expediently by spraying them over the surface of the particles produced with the alkaline product by granulation. The neutralisation can be carried out under relatively dry conditions, i.e. at a moisture content of 8-30% by weight, for example at a moisture content of 10-20% by weight. The lignocellulose-containing product can also be neutralised in conjunction with mechanical treatment of the product, for example by mechanical grinding of the product, such as using an extruder or granulators which can generally be used in the production of animal feeds. |
