<p>The opening of variable bleed doors is scheduled as a function of both booster and compressor speed so as to better maintain the desired booster stall margin and increase efficiency during certain periods of engine operation. The schedule based on core speed is modified in response to changes in fan speed to increase or decrease the amount of bleed, thereby increasing stall margin or improving the steady-state performance, respectively.</p> |
