PURPOSE:To simplify handling, to improve reliability and also to prevent data from colliding by constituting each station while no active element resides on a circuit path forming a loop, and by allotting transmission light wavelength to each station. CONSTITUTION:Stations S1j (j=1-n) are connected together via glass fiber in a loop; computer C1j is added to each S1j and different transmaission light wavelength is assigned to each S1j. Light branching device 1 and light inserting device 2 provided at the light intake and outlet of S1j are both obtained by bonding two glass fibers by thermal fusing, light delay element 3 is also obtained by varying the length of coiled glass fiber, and light branching device 4 is a filter which removes only the transmission light wavelength, assigned to S1j, from a circuit path. Because of this constitution, S1j is all composed of passive elements, no active element resides on the circuit path forming the loop, and this system is extremely superior in handling and reliability. |
