PURPOSE:To increase the original power of a motion picture and also to obtain the special effect of improving picture effect by separating and extracting only a component differing from a still picture signal of motion picture signal spectrum distribution, and then by mixing it with an original picture with the level changed. CONSTITUTION:When the sum of difference picture signals from adder 5 is mixed with a picture signal extracted from the intermediate connection point between delay circuits 1 and 2 which change those difference picture signals into a common original-picture signal and delayed by one field period, the output of adder 5 is supplied to adder 6 via level regulator 7 and then added to the one-field delay picture signal from the intermediate connection point between circuits 1 and 2 to mixing difference picture signals with the original-picture signal at relative level ratio (k) set by regulator 7, thereby obtaining characteristics showing that frequency characteristics of a signal component expressing the motion of a picture extracted by filtering as a high frequency component in a time frequency range are emphasized nearly in a sine wave shape reaching maximum level ratio 1+2k at an intermediate point as the result of a greater increase in signal level as the motion is faster. Therefore, setting ratio (k) to its threshold level emphasizes greatly the motion. |
