PURPOSE:To provide a compact electric motor featuring a large torque and less current consumption by installing a rotor yoke equipped with a ring-shaped magnet, on both sides of a stator yoke equipped with a winding on both its surfaces, in order to form two magnet-paths independent of each other. CONSTITUTION:To both the upper and lower sides of a stator yoke 2 made of magnetic material, a plurality of flat windings 6 and 7 are annularly fixed, and a rotor position-detecting element 8 is fixed to the yoke. On both sides of the stator yoke 2, rotor yokes 42 and 43 equipped with ring-shaped magnets 44 and 45 which are multipolarly magnetized are installed face to face as to rotate freely. Thus, a compact electric motor featuring a large torque and less current consumption is provided. Since two magnetic-path systems are formed between the stator yoke 2 and each of the two rotor yokes 42 and 43, the combination of the windings 6 and 7 arranged on both sides of the stator yoke 2 permits the electric motor to be used as both a bilaterally rotating motor and a double-phase motor. |
