<p>A governor for a hydraulically controlled automatic transmission having a one-piece housing including a valve member slidable in the housing and connected to a governor weight to cause movement thereof, and therefore selective opening and closing of parts in the housing, in response to rotational speed variation of the housing. A bolt threaded to the housing on the opposite side thereof to the governor weight acts as a counterbalance, secures the housing to the output shaft of the transmission and forces the housing tightly against the shaft whereby fluid passages in the housing and shaft are sealingly interconnected.</p> |
