PURPOSE:To improve the wear resistance and flaw resistance of a fixing roller to make the life of the roller longer, by adding <=25wt% fluororesin glass fibers to a fluororesin. CONSTITUTION:The metallic roller which becomes the base material of a fixing roller has the surface roughened by sand-blast or etching, and a primer is applied as required to increase the adhesive force. Glass fibers are mixed in a fluororesin disperse liquid, and this liquid is agitated and is applied by a spray or the like; or glass fibers are mixed directly with resin powder such as a PFA resin, and this powder is coated electrostatically. A fluororesin with glass fibers added is applied to the surface of the metallic roller subjected to this adhesive processing, and the metallic roller is heated; and the metallic roller produced in this manner is superior in wear resistance and flaw resistance for <=25% packing quantity, and the life of this metallic roller becomes longer considerably than the conventional metallic roller. |
