An electrical connector comprises a socket part, comprising a grooved cover (1) for receiving a cable (2) and a member (3) of electrically insulating material locked by snap-action into the cover to keep the cable in the cover. The member 3 is provided with through-holes in a direction transverse to the longitudinal direction of the cable. The connector further comprises a plug part provided with spring-loaded plug portions (19, 22) which are insertable into the holes to make contact with bared conductors of the cable in the socket. The plug portions (19) may have grooves 21 for receiving the conductor wires of an electric cable or one plug portion (22) may comprises fuse connected to a conductor wire of the cable. The plug has legs (17, 18) which are expandable into engagement with the walls of an aperture (6) in the socket to hold the two parts together.
