PURPOSE:To improve the productivity by placing plates between a powder layer of separator material and a porous sheet of separator material being supplied continuously, and then sintering the powder layer. CONSTITUTION:Covered plates are produced efficiently by the following process. A rolled porous sheet 2 of separator is supplied through rolls 3, 3 from a drum 1 to a conveyor belt 4 moving at a constant rate. Plates (b) are supplied one by one at certain intervals from a hopper 5 onto the sheet 2. Sinterable powder (a) is supplied from a second hopper 6 onto the plates (b) at a rate and in a quantity as prescribed, so that a powder layer 1 of a certain thickness is formed by a molder 7. The conveyor is introduced into an oven 8 at 90-210 deg.C so that the powder is sintered and the layer (a) is combined with the sheet 2. The sintered layer is cooled by a fan 8'. The plate (b) convered by the layer (a) and the sheet 2 is cut off at (c) by a coining machine 9 and a blade 10. |
