<p>Alignment of bicycle wheels utilises a single probe which provides indication of lateral and circumferential alignment. The indicator operates in two planes to permit rapid adjustment of the wheels. An alignment instrument comprises a housing (1) in which a shaft (16) is mounted (17) and which is able to rotate and move longitudinally when a probe arm (24) is moved. The probe arm has two mutually perpendicular surfaces (25, 26) which contact the wheel rim. A pointer (19) operated by the shaft moves in two planes to follow movement of the shaft and is observed through a window in housing top (13) divided into quadrants.</p> |
