PURPOSE:To uniformalize the heating of a metallic plate along the width direction by a mechanism wherein magnetic flux focusing elements are disposed to a void between a wider surface of the metallic plate and an induction heating coil when the metallic plate is heated by means of the induction heating coil. CONSTITUTION:A metallic plate to be heated 3 is inserted into an induction heating coil 2 connected to a power source 4. Two magnetic flux focusing elements 8, 8 are arranged onto a center line of the metallic plate 3. The magnetic focusing elements 8 are formed by bodies manufactured by stacking silicon steel plates, etc., whose magnetic permeability mu is 1 or more. Alternating magnetic flux 5 generated in the induction heating coil 2 is focussed to the magnetic flux focusing elements 8, and the distribution of magnetic flux density is levelled along the width direction of the metallic plate 3. Thus, the central portion can also be heated in extent similar to the end portion sides in the metallic plate 3, and the metallic plate is uniformly heated in the width direction. The uniform heating is particularly remarkably effective especially in case of a compound metallic plate manufactured by stacking the metallic plates, whose magnetic permeability differs, of an iron plate and an aluminum plate, etc. |
