PURPOSE:To enable connecting-together of subject strings, which are useful to an insulating material or the like for a coaxial cable without reducing the strength thereof, by using a mold constituted such that an end of a string is shaved off to form a half of the end, only a portion where one half portion is superposed on another half portion is in contact with a metal molding surface, and other contacting portion is in contact with a mold portion sheathed with high heat-resisting resins. CONSTITUTION:An end of a high density polyethylene string to be connected is shaved off so that a cross section area of so shaved end becomes a half of the original and two ends so shaved are superposed together to form the same area as the original one. The two ends so shaved are superposed together. The string so processed is placed in a metal-made mold constituted such that it has a groove formed in the shape matching a cross-section of a high density polyethylene string, and a surface of a portion, except the portion where the two ends are connected together, is in contact with the string and is sheathed with high heat-resisting resins such as teflon. After the metal portion of the mold is heated, it is cooled as it is, whereby the high density polyethylene strings are connected together. |
