The car door cylindrical lock has the outer end region of its rotary cylinder (24), which has the key hole (26), surrounded by a sleeve (28) made of transparent plastic. The sleeves is connected to a light source containing an electric lamp (72). A manual operating element (54) releases the lock's bolt and is coupled to a switch (62-64) that is normally open. The switch connects a current supply to the lamp. The manual operating element is moved by manual pressure applied in a direction opposing an elastic restoring force. The external pressure face of the element is covered by a flexible membrane (46) which has a bridging contact (64) that joins two adjacent contacts (62) on the pressure face of the element. These contacts form the switch.
