<p>The pressure tappings in the ram signal the end of travel. Channels are made in the ram nose and base leading to these tappings. The ram rod has an axial hole (1) connected with one or more radial holes (2) to allow air to pass either side of the piston. For each end of travel the holes in the rod are connected tightly to ensure that pressure reaches the signal tappings (4). In the nose is a sealed space connected to the tapping channel. This is bounded by two joints (3, 6) in which the rod slides.</p> |
