The parent patent showed a dough dividing machine for producing dough pieces of measured vol. to be made into loaves of bread. The machine has an open-topped cylinder with a piston which retracts to draw in dough and advances to drive out the piece. Piston retraction takes place while the cylinder mouth is covered by the outlet end of a delivery pipe from a dough supply hopper. The pipe is set at an angle to a vertical pivot so that the outlet end can be swung onto a surrounding plate. This closes the outlet end while the piston rises on its discharge a dough piece. The pipe outlet end always takes up one of two positions, i.e. delivering to the cylinder of away from the cylinder and closed. The outlet end of the delivery pipe is onw temporarily located at an intermediate position between fully open and fully closed. For a brief duration at the start of the discharge stroke of the piston, the outlet end of the pipe is partly overlapped with the mouth of the cylinder.
|
