<p>PURPOSE:To efficiently provide the title bred plant, by suspending a plasmid having a foreign gene, etc., and a protoplast originated from a gramineae family plant, applying electric pulses to the resultant suspension to transform the protoplast, culturing the transformed protoplast to form a colony and subsequently regenerating the plant body from the colony. CONSTITUTION:The objective transformed gramineae family plant is provided by suspending a plasmid having a promoter acting in a graminae gamily plant, a foreign gene (e.g., hygromycin phosphotransferase gene) and a terminator and a protoplast originated from a gramineae family plant (e.g., rice plant) in a liquid medium, applying electric pulses to the resultant suspension to introduce the plasmid into the protoplast, culturing the transformed protoplast in a medium containing the cultured cells of the gramineae family plant to form a colony and subsequently regenerating the plant body from the colony.</p> |
