<p>The silencer has an oval outer casing with an oval inlet (6) concentric within this. The inlet is a tube running into a deflector (13). The deflector consists of a tube (15) with openings spaced around its circumference. Curved blades (16) extend from inside the tube through these openings and the tube is closed (14) at its end. The blades deflect gases through a right angle so that glowing particles are centrifuged out of them. The gases flow through the space between the deflector and the outer case and enter a further silencing section (15, 22, 23) through radial holes (19) in a central tube (21) concentric with the case.</p> |
