Metal sheet stacker machine - holds sheets under conveyor belt by suction and drops them by releasing vacuum

The machine is used for continuously stacking of metal sheets (B) of different thickness. It comprises an endless conveyor (2a) which holds successive sheets on its lower part by vacuum (from 3) and drops them on a vertically movable table (4a) at a stacking station (4) by releasing the vacuum. The station has a stop (5) for the leading end of each sheet and a guide (6) for the trailing end. This guide brakes the movement of the sheet as it drops down on the stack. The guide is pref. a ledge across the direction of transport (R) and may have a number of suction orifices (8, 9) to provide the braking action.
