PURPOSE:To improve the directivity of a light emitting diode by disposing a concave reflecting mirror at the back thereof directing toward the rearward direction at the P-N junction of the diode. CONSTITUTION:The P-N junction semiconductor of a light emitting diode 1 is directed backwardly, and a concave reflecting mirror 3 is disposed at the rear thereof. The radius of the curvature of the mirror 3, the relative position between the mirror 3 and the pn junction semiconductor 1 and the front shape of the transparent synthetic resin 2 are combined suitably to irradiate the light in parallel, focus or diverge the light. Thus, it can improve the directivity of the diode and increase the light amount per unit area. |
