<p>The input shaft (4) of a variable-speed gearbox (1) is fitted with several turbine rotor discs (5, 6, 7, 8) of different diameters. A pressurised medium, entering the gearbox (1) via a controllable valve (14), can, by means of the latter, be directed along one of several passage (10, 11, 12, 13), each associated with one of the rotor discs (5, 6, 7, 8). The shaft (4) can thus be made to rotate at a different speed, depending on which rotor disc (5, 6, 7 or 8) is driven. In a separate housing (18), a gearwheel (16), mounted on the end of the shaft (4), meshes with a gearwheel (17), fixed to the output shaft.</p> |
