The application is principally to light wiring which is run as flat cables (SL) comprising two or more parallel cores encased in a soft plastic covering. Such cables are fastened to concrete walls, during building construction, using saddles and hardened steel nails. The installation is subsequently buried in a plaster facing. The proposed clamp or saddle is a plastic moulding. It comprises two lugs (12, 14) through which it is fastened to the wall. The lugs are joined by a bridging piece (16) to produce a rectangular opening of cross section comparable with that of the cable. The bridge piece has projections (26, 28) which assist in gripping the cable. These projections also have localised high points to increase resistance to axial movement should a pull be exerted on the cores. As the nails pass through the lugs there is no risk of cable insulation damage.
|
