The object of the invention is to create this device for axially securing damper bars (2) in such a manner that it can be used for turbogenerators of both a horizontal and a vertical type, is simple to produce and prevents hazards relating to damage from thermal expansion. According to the invention, this is achieved in that the damper bar (2) located under the rotor slot wedge (1) is provided with a circular recess on the surface facing the rotor slot wedge (1) and symmetrically with respect to its longitudinal axis, the diameter of which recess is somewhat larger than the width of the damper bar (2), the rotor body (3) furthermore having a recess at the same point whose centre coincides with the centre of the rotor slot. A disc (4) consisting of heat-resistant insulating material is inserted into this recess and is supported in terms of centrifugal forces by the rotor slot wedge (1). <IMAGE>
