The contact system for connecting different parts of an electric or electronic device such as a liq. crystal indicator uses a contact element for a printed circuit board which is slid into a control slot. This element can be a resilient rod with a number of conductive bands around it, spaced along the rod, leaving non-conductive strips between the bands. If the contact element is housed in a chamber inside a member closed one side, the printed circuit boards can be inserted in two slots, one to contact the top of the element and one to contact the bottom. Slots in alternative positions enable other parts of the element to be contacted. In further designs, the element can be strip-shaped, and can be bent over to form a circle or U shape. When flat, this has conductive strips along it. This can also be bent into several alternative shapes allowing boards to be inserted into up to five different slots. |
