<p>The arrangement is intended for use when anchoring a vessel at some distance from a quay. It consists of two parallel triangular plates connected near their corners via distance pieces and carrying a rotatable roller between them which slightly projects from one side of the plates. This assembly is at its apex connected to the anchor line, and anchor line, fixed to the vessel, is slung around the roller and its free end is fixed ashore. This permits vessel to be moved away from the quay by pulling the shore line.</p> |
